Once again a 29 years old man who had severe injury in the upper cervical cord in a road accident (two years ago) achieved significant improvement after having successful stem cell therapy at the Salem Manipal Hospital, India.
The young Indian man after a car accident lost all sensations, the injury damaged mainly the C3-C4 area of cervical cord that causes loss of bladder functions and control, he lost all feelings and sensations, and unable to walk or grab anything, he also feels sever weakness in limbs.
Dr. K Eliyas Basha , a stem cell specialist at Salem Manipal Hospital in India, who did various successful stem cell therapy around the world, decided to go for an autologous stem cell therapy for this young man.
Dr. Basha and his team firstly extracted bone marrow from the hip bone of the patient, after separating stem cells from the bone marrow it takes 6 weeks for cultivating and increasing stem cells up to not less than 100 million, then injected them in the injury site.
It is now quite evident that stem cell therapy have the potential to improve and save (if not cure) the life of spinal cord injury patients, there are several success stories that can sufficiently back up the point, it can surely repair, improve without any side effects. We are looking forward for the day when FDA will have to raise the green signal to help restore the life of several disabled persons suffering from spinal cord injury through out the world.
Our logic is to keep open all the windows to allow the healing rays of the new therapy to come in and heal cure the sufferers, their families and the world, what ever the sources are, we should extract all the good things from all the sources of stem cells, may it be embryonic, adult, induced pluripotent, we are not in a position to choose, we will go for the better, which is affordable for the weaker and deadly for the killer diseases.
