Pfizer, an international pharmaceutical company has announced to open a new stem cell research center in the UK. The Pfizer Regenerative Medicine unit will be act as a biotechnology hub to develop future treatments aimed at preventing disabilities, repairing damaged organs and combating degenerative diseases.

The UK laboratory will look into neural and sensory disorders and plans to collaborate with academic, biotech and pharmaceutical partners around the world.

Based at Granta Park, the UK facility will also work alongside another unit at Cambridge, Massachusetts, established by the firm to concentrate on endocrine and cardiac conditions.
