On 11th July 2008,  Stempeutics Research Private Limited, a group company of Manipal Education and Medical Group(MEMG) opened its second Stem Cell Lab at Manipal University campus.Chief Scientific Officer of Stempeutics Dr Satish Totey, Vice-Chancellor of MU Dr Raj P Warrier, General Manager of Stempeutics N Manjunath and others were present in that auspicious occasion.

This new Laboratory has been established with an aim to produce large-scale of Mesenchymal stem cells for clinical trials using innovative up-scaling process and also to conduct pilot studies to address the needs of patients suffering from critical diseases like Dilated Cardio Sympathy, end stage liver disease and Osteoarthritis.

On the occasion Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University Dr H S Ballal said that the stem cell research will be conducted in the collaboration with various departments of the University with increased frequency of publications and patients port folios.

President of Stempeutics B N Manohar said that Stempeutics is investing heavily on Research & Development to bring out some innovative products in the near future, based on adult stem cells.

They also said that they are investing money for leveraging human embryonic stem cells for therapeutic purpose. To achieve this goal the Stempeutics will work closely with Manipal Assisted Reproduction Center (MARC) in Kasturba Hospital For Advanced research.

Moreover the Chancellor of Manipal University Dr Ramdas Pai said that keeping in mind the overall burden of disease, various medical conditions and the potential for stem cell therapy globally, they would set up their third lab at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August.
