ImmunoCellular Therapeutics,(ICT) Ltd has announced that the company acquired the exclusive license from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for their novel peptides which the Company believes can stimulate the immune system to target cancer stem cells. Thus it can be used for gliomas, a cancer originating in the brain or spine. These peptides were specifically designed to elicit a T cell response targeting CD133 positive cancer stem cells that have been identified in a number of cancer types, including gliomas, colon cancer and pancreatic cancer.

In a major breakthrough in the cancer treatment, Spanish baby’s cord blood stem cell saved the Scot boy, Jordan suffering from leukaemia. Stem cell was his only ray of hope as all other measures failed in him. World’s First Designer Baby: Guaranteed To Be Free From Hereditary Breast Cancer

A 27 year old British woman is conceiving the country’s first designer baby. The baby will be guaranteed to be free from hereditary breast cancer. Doctors have used the controversial screening techniques. They have rejected six embryos which tested positive for the cancer gene in favor of healthy ones to ensure the child would not contract the disease. It can be added that the woman’s husband had the family history of breast cancer as his grandmother, mother, sister and cousin had all battled breast cancer. The researchers have used the technology called the pre-implantation diagnosis (PGD) to create the designer child.

Suzanne Penney was diagnosed with leukemia after aggressive chemotherapy she received for her breast cancer.
