Stem Cell Treatment Successful for Heart Failure Patients in Australia
Australian doctors have successfully treated heart failures, using adult stem cells, of their first three patients.
The results of a preliminary trial have been released by doctors from the John Hunter Hospital in New South Wales.
The doctors took stem cells from the patients, treated the cells, then injected them back into the patients.
Six months after the treatment, the first three patients have all shown 20-60% improvement in their heart function.
In a few months the results of their other 7 patients will be known. Link
