Stem cell research is likely to get a major boost when University of Michigan student Michael Rubyan makes a documentary on stem cell research. The purpose of the film says, he , is not to advocate, but to educate.

Now his film, life for the living is being shown in Michigan just in time for the election come November 4th. Michael however, says he never planned it that way. In the film Governor Jennifer Granholm and other state officials talk about the importance of stem cell research and six families tell their stories.

A student of majoring in film and pre-med, Michael is still not over the shock, he can’t believe he made a film. He says,”I sometimes think to myself is this really happening. Film is very unique the only film in the country that gives you the whole picture on stem cell research.”

But he says it took a team effort to put the documentary together. More he says about his film,

“It’s a great piece on stem cell research it combines all the issues on this very complex debate, it includes people that can benefit from this research really good tutorial on science very good explanation on the politic tying it all together.”
