Democrat Robert Menendez on Tuesday said more public investment is needed for embryonic stem cell research, and that Republican challenger Tom Kean Jr. has voted six times against the issue.

However Kean said that he has voted several times to fund stem cell research.

Meanwhile, as Kean campaigned in Bergen County, a Republican assemblyman held a news conference on Menendez’s ethics.
