The BioArchive is an automated system to cryogenically freeze and store cord blood stem cells, derived from the umbilical cords of infants, which have medical promise for transplants.

The system uses robotic storage and retrieval to maintain the cells at a liquid-nitrogen-cooled 196 degrees-below-zero Celsius.

The system is in use in 70 cord-blood banks in 25 countries. It is distributed worldwide by GE Healthcare, though the arrangement is not exclusive.
